Custom solutions for highly improved
database performance

As the complexity of applications and platforms increases, so do database requirements. Databases must now handle increasingly intricate requests more quickly than ever before. And they must be very scalable. Relational databases are often no longer up to the task. Performance can become a problem. In such cases we use non-relational, document-oriented databases. With these we can increase performance manifold at great scalability.

But sometimes even more performance has to be squeezed out. In these cases, we develop custom solutions. These do not replace but enhance standard solutions.

For example, we use CouchDB for a client's couponing platform. For the platform it is vital that average response times are below a critical limit. The standard interface proved to slow. So we developed an interface in Erlang. With great success.

Our Erlang solution gives a major speed boost and pushes response times below the critical limit. On top of that, we are able to process, combine and transform the data in any way needed. Therefore, we can perform the most complex requests at lightning speed.
